Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Insurance and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.15% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:OBAMS), which rose 7.74% or 3.02 points to trade at 42.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) added 6.78% or 7.00 points to end at 110.30 and Smart Gunes Enerjisi Teknolojileri Arastirma Gelistirme Uretim Sanayi ve Ticaret (IS:SMRTG) was up 6.35% or 2.42 points to 40.56 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which fell 6.12% or 5.05 points to trade at 77.40 at the close. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) declined 4.59% or 3.45 points to end at 71.70 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) was down 3.84% or 0.98 points to 24.54.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 391 to 171 and 13 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 2.77% or 75.95 to $2,661.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.53% or 1.80 to hit $69.44 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.40% or 1.79 to trade at $72.84 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.19% to 34.61, while EUR/TRY rose 0.56% to 36.40.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.81% at 106.64.
